About Strong in Body, Strong in Mind
Strong in Body, Strong in Mind is a blog which promotes betterment by balancing barbells and books. That is, strengthening one’s body and mind in tandem. As Thomas Jefferson once said, “A strong body makes the mind strong.” The World Health Organization built on this idea by saying “Without mental health, there is no true physical health.” Strong in Body, Strong in Mind embodies both these ideas.
What is the Your Story Series?
Your Story is a way to humanize Strong in Body, Strong in Mind by giving a voice to its community members. By sharing your fitness and health related story with the community, you can let others know they aren’t alone in their struggle. It also provides an opportunity to raise awareness about causes you support.
Your Story submissions should consist of 500-800 words addressing:
- Your past challenges
- Your sport/ physical activity of choice
- How you got started
- How it changed you
- Hopes and goals moving forward

How to Pitch Your Story
Send a brief introduction and paragraph (4-5 lines) summarizing your idea and how you think it could help others to firstname.lastname@example.org with subject line “Your Story Pitch”.
Once it’s approved you will be given a submission due date. This helps us keep on track with scheduling and get your voice out as smoothly as possible.
You submit your article. It will then be edited for grammar, flow, and reader optimization. The wording might change, but your story remains intact. You attach links to your social media profiles or blog, should you so desire.
We provide a publishing date. When it’s published we share via the blog and social media pages. You share the post, invite people to like Strong in Body, Strong in Mind and encourage others to share their story. Start a dialogue!
